A dedicated back-up server resides within the trusted zone that backs up the following data:
  • CVS repository.
  • Administration web site.
  • Customer Debian packages.
  • Monitoring data.
  • User preferences.
  • User tokens.
  • Server and firewall configuration files.

The data is backed up to tape on a monthly rotation. The tapes are changed manually and
stored off-site. The data is also backed up to the SAN within the core to provide the possibility
of a more rapid restoration than tape in the event that server rebuild is required and the SAN
    is functioning correctly.

In the event of server or firewall failure the hardware will be replaced within four hours
under a support with the vendors. The firewall configuration files can then be restored from
disk, if the SAN is available, or from tape. The server will have a standard operating system
installed and then custom packages will be installed from one of two package repositories.
The data will then be restored from disk or tape. If the package repositories aren't available
they can also be restored from disk or tape. Checkbridge administrators undertake
    monthly data restoration tests.
