Clam AntiVirus
Clam AntiVirus is an open source anti-virus toolkit for UNIX. The main purpose of this software is the integration with mail servers (attachment scanning). The package provides a flexible and scalable multi-threaded daemon, a command line scanner, and a tool for automatic updating via Internet. The use of an open-source scanner compliments the commercial scanners, completing the optimal multi-layered virus defense. ClamAV's distinct heritage means that the drivers for product development differ from those behind the commercial scanners, thereby creating an environment in which any weaknesses in one technology are complimented by the strengths of another. Checkbridge recognise and support the role that open-source software has to play alongside commercially available products in creating a safer Internet and 'enabling trusted communication'. |
